Hannah S., RN

As a newbie to the West Coast, Hannah joined the RTB team when she moved from North Carolina to Oregon in February 2024. Hannah is a driven registered nurse passionate about helping others reach the best version of themselves.

In her Mental Health clinical, Hannah found it difficult to witness the stigma that came along with receiving nursing care for psychiatric illnesses and substance use disorders and she wanted to be a part of changing societal views and attitudes. Hannah found immense joy and fulfillment in working with the misunderstood, vulnerable patient population, leading her to pursue the behavioral health nursing specialty. While in school, she worked as a Mental Health Technician and completed a Behavioral Health summer internship.

She completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2019 at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. She worked as an RN on an inpatient rehabilitation unit for 2 years to refine her medical nursing skills, until she transitioned back into psychiatric nursing in 2021 after moving to Charlotte, NC.

From 2021-2024, she worked in an acute inpatient psychiatric unit where she was a charge nurse and nursing preceptor. In 2023, she received her Psychiatric Mental-Health Nursing Board Certification after passing the required exam. She also became a Certified Nursing Instructor Partner, which allowed her to be a clinical educator at Queens University. Hannah plans to continue her education next year to eventually gain her DNP and become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

When Hannah is not at work, she enjoys hiking, running, and spending time with her husband and their 2 cats. She is a firm believer in having a work-life balance and prioritizes her mental health and wellbeing. She has enjoyed exploring Central Oregon for the first time and will accept any recommendations for baked goods or a perfect iced vanilla latte.
